    Most field tools ship with a fixed set of fields, statuses and vocabulary. When the job doesn't match, the crew works around the software — and the workaround becomes the process.

  • There's no signal where the work is

    Poles don't stand next to cell towers. Tools that assume a connection either stop the crew until they find one, or quietly lose what was captured while there wasn't.

Capture with no connection at all

Map-first. A crew sees their work on a map, taps a location and fills in the form. Capture, photograph and edit with no signal; it syncs the moment there is one. Nothing is lost if the app is killed or the phone reboots.

A three-pane review tool — a list, a map and the record detail side by side. Work through a day's captures, look at the photographs, correct in place, approve or reject from the keyboard, and sign off with a note.

Photographs

Every photo carries its own evidence

A photograph is only worth as much as what you can prove about it. WAKE records the context with the image, so a record still stands up months later when someone asks where a number came from.

  • Where it was taken

    GPS position recorded at the shutter, with honest provenance — including how good the fix actually was.

  • When it was taken

    Timestamped on capture, not on upload. A photo taken in the field on Tuesday reads as Tuesday.

  • How it was taken

    Full camera metadata and a snapshot of the device orientation at the moment the shutter fired.

  • That it has not changed

    A tamper-evident chain of custody follows each photograph from the phone through to the export.

    ArcGIS users get a File Geodatabase, with step-by-step instructions included in the archive.

  • Built in the background

    A large job does not die in a browser request. Start the export, close the tab, and collect the file later from a downloads page.

  • Or set it to run itself

    Exports can run on a schedule, or fire the moment a record is approved — so the client gets the data without anyone remembering to send it.
